SWPL's Printable Museum Pass System

SWPL uses MuseumKey to distribute and keep track of its collection of passes. Nearly all of the library's passes are offered as on-demand printable items. Printable passes do not have to be returned; there are no overdue fines.;

Passes are good only for the specific day chosen. Patrons may make reservations up to 30 days in advance, and can reserve two passes for a single date. They may have a total of four active reservations at any given time.

Each museum determines the value of its pass, including admission discounts, special rules, and whether or not special exhibits or events are covered. Please check the museum website to learn more about each pass.

The Museum Pass program is supported by the Friends of the South Windsor Public Library.

Using Printable Passes

  • Search for available passes either by date or museum.
  • Log into the system using their library card number and PIN.
    • The PIN is the same password used to place holds or access a library account to place holds or renew items. If you don’t remember your PIN or have never created one, please contact SWPL at (860) 644-1541 or info.swpl@libraryconnection.info.
  • Passes may be printed out at home or on a library computer. Staff will print them out at the Circulation Desk upon request.

Using Physical Passes

The Beardsley Zoo, Dinosaur State Park, Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, and Springfield Museums require physical passes. Patrons may reserve these passes at home using MuseumKey, but the actual passes must be picked up at the Circulation Desk on the Adult Floor and returned after use. Passes circulate for two days; overdue fines are $10 per day.
