Due to weather conditions, BOTH showiings of "Central Station" will be rescheduled.
Winner of the 1998 Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, "Central Station" tells the story of a retired schoolteacher who works writing letters for illiterate people in Rio de Janiero's Central Station. After a young boy witnesses his mother's accidental death, she reluctantly takes him under her wing and the two begin a search for his father in the remote northeast region of the country, finding much more than the man they sought.
Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. showing is followed by a discussion led by reitred MCC Professor Michael DiRaimo. The film is reshown on Thursday at 2 p.m., without the discussion.

Coming to See an Exhibit at the Library? Don't be disappointed!
The Library is glad to provide many exhibit spaces used to display the talents of members of our community.  Most exhibits are here for a full calendar month.
During the school year in particular, our meeting rooms are also used for gatherings of local organizations (as well as Library programs).  These "one-time events" are often scheduled with very little notice and are not part of the Library's monthly calendar.
If you are coming to see an exhibit in a Library meeting room, please call us at 860-644-1541 to be sure the room will not be in use when you arrive.
